Below is a work around for Desktop Manager to recognize your Notes 8. Essentially, you have to create a 6.0 or 7.0 key that mimics that of your 8.0 settings. You may have to do this workaround if you want to get Desktop Manager working against 8.0 before RIM officially supports it.
Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.2 installs fine. When I attempt to launch the application, I receive the following error when only a Notes\8.0 key exists in the Windows registry:
To work around this issue, I create either a 6.0 or 7.0 key with the appropriate path information. When I restart Blackberry Desktop Manager, it then presents me with the Lotus Notes Login dialog.
Here is a peek at my registry settings:
Again, the key can be named 6.0 or 7.0.
